")
Director : Didier Andrivon
Deputy directors : Alain Sarniguet, Jean Christophe Simon

BiO3P is a research joint unit between INRA and Agrocampus, located at the INRA institute of Rennes. It includes both scientists from the INRA Research Department of "Plant Health and Environment", and professors from the laboratory of Ecology and plant protection of Agrocampus Rennes.
Our research aims at developing a better knowledge on (1) the biology of plant pathogens (bacteria, fungi, viruses), aphids, nematodes, and helpers organisms (natural enemies, pollinators), (2) the interactions these organisms may develop together and with their host plant and their environment (soil, climate, human activity).
This research is designed toward the setting up and improvement of plant protection methods, taking into account sustainability, respect of the environment, and low input utilisation.

  • BiO3P is:
    a human potential for research and training
          * 29 scientists, 6 assistant-professors and professors, 45 technicians, 15 PhD students, 3 post-doctoral positions;
          * 16 scientists and technicians from growers associations at the disposal of BiO3P;
          * 11 scientists and professors having their habilitation to supervise PhD student research.
