BiO3P is composed of 110 people grouped
in seven research groups and one administrative group.
These people are
involved in three main missions:
Research,
using either public fundings (state, Brittany region, department,
town, european community…) or inpartership with private
companies. Fifteen people paid by growers associations (potato, legumes,
vegetables, . . ) are at UMR’s disposal.
Education and research training. BiO3P, mainly through its
assistant professors and professors but also through its scientists,
is involved
in education in plant protection for students from Agrocampus
Rennes and the University
of Rennes I (three degrees
from licence to doctorate). Eleven scientists and professors of BiO3P
have the accreditation
to supervise PhD researches. In 2004, twelve PhD students are working
in BiO3P, in the framework of the Ecole Doctorale “Vie – Agro-
Santé” (VAS).
Publication, expertise and transfer. Scientists of BiO3P publish their
data in several scientific journals. They also play important roles
in expertise and transfer of knowledge to growers associations and
private companies.
