« Biology and evolution of plant RNA viruses
»

RNA viruses are among the most widespread and damaging pathogens in cultivated plants. The economic and ecological impact of these viruses (plant viruses) is highly correlated to their spreading capacity and to their potential of adaptation to new environments. In order to better understand these processes, our research turns around three main axis :

We are studying four virus species:

  • Barley yellow dwarf virus-PAV (BYDV-PAV)
  • Potato leafroll virus (PLRV)
  • Potato virus Y (PVY)
  • Tobacco rattle virus (TRV)

Outcomes are expected in terms of control strategies based either on sanitary checking of seed plants (PVY, PLRV) or on genetic resistance (BYDV-PAV, PVY, TRV).
