Managing plant resistance implies that at least one resistance source is available, in order to allow the investigation of the impact of host genetic structures (breeding of resistant cultivars) and/or of deployment strategies of resistant cultivars on pathogen populations. It also implies that genetic and/or functional determinants of pathogenicity, allowing the more or less successful establishment and development of pathogens on resistant plants, be identified. Therefore, designing durable management strategies of plant resistance to diseases requires three main steps, which constitute our main research directions :
